Officer Francisco F. Garza was killed in a head-on collision while en route to in-service training in Beeville, TX. His vehicle was hit when the driver of an oncoming car cross the center divide.  Officer Garza’s vehicle rolled and he died from his injuries. 

He served at the Fabian Dominguez State Jail in Bexar County, TX.
  Officer Garza had served with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice since 1992.  Prior to his appointment in Texas, he had been a correctional officer at Folsom State Prison in Represa, California, for seven years.  Officer Garza was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had been stationed in Germany.  He cherished his family and the time they spent together. 

Officer Francisco F. Garza was survived by his wife, Juanita, and their 3 children, Gilbert, Geraldo, and Selena.  He is also survived by his mother, Suzie Garza; his sister, Irma Dapkewicz, and her husband, Frank; and a large extended family.
